Say Goodbye To Inefficient Cutting! GT-819 Automatic Heavy-Duty Webbing Hot Cutting Machine

In the production of industrial lifting slings, safety ropes, cargo straps, and mountain rescue ropes, fixed-length cutting of webbing and rope is one of the most basic and critical processes. However, many small and medium-sized manufacturing enterprises still use cold cutting (mechanical shears), punching, or even manual hot cutting for this work. These traditional methods generally suffer from problems such as loose threads at the cut, poor edge sealing, poor dimensional accuracy, high labor costs, and low efficiency.

The GT-819 heavy-duty webbing hot cutting machine (and its sister model, GT-818) is designed to solve these pain points. As a high-speed, automatic, and heat-sealing integrated industrial cutting device, it can complete multiple actions in one go, including fixed-length feeding, high-temperature melting and cutting, end-face sealing, and marking, transforming the cutting process from "labor-intensive" to "automatic and high-precision."

Hot Knife Cutting Technology Principle: Why is "Cut + Seal" Key?

The GT-819 utilizes hot knife cutting (HK) technology, essentially a thermomechanical process. Its core components are two sets of HSS (high-speed steel) blades, each with a heating element inside or on its back, allowing for precise temperature control between 200℃ and 400℃ (adjusted according to the material's melting point).

KNIFE

When the heated blade penetrates the webbing, two physical processes occur simultaneously:

Mechanical Cutting: The sharp edge of the blade cuts the fibers.

Thermal Fusion: The heat from the blade instantly melts the synthetic fibers on both sides of the cut, forming a continuous, smooth molten layer. After the blade is removed, the molten layer rapidly cools and solidifies, firmly "welding" the end fibers together.

This process achieves "cutting and sealing simultaneously, sealing complete," completely eliminating secondary processing steps. For round ropes with a diameter ≤16mm, the hot knife can also melt and seal the strands in one go, preventing the rope ends from unraveling.

Compared to laser cutting (which involves high equipment investment, complex maintenance, and smoke), hot knife cutting offers advantages in the webbing processing field, including high cost-effectiveness, intuitive operation, and easy maintenance. Compared to ultrasonic cutting (which is sensitive to material thickness and has insufficient edge sealing strength), hot knife cutting provides a more reliable sealing effect for thick (16mm) webbing.

GT-819 Core Technical Parameters and Structural Analysis

The GT-819's 300mm cutting width enables it to handle one-time cross-cutting of industrial-grade wide-body lifting slings (common specifications include 50mm, 75mm, 100mm, 150mm, 200mm, 250mm, etc.) and large binding straps. For extremely wide webbing exceeding 300mm, custom-made special machines or a "multi-segment splicing cutting method" can be used, but generally, the GT-819 covers over 95% of industrial webbing specifications.

1. Double HSS Blade System

The upper and lower blades work simultaneously, performing heat-melting cuts from both sides of the webbing. This design is particularly suitable for thick webbing (8-16mm), avoiding insufficient heat penetration and incomplete fiber fusion caused by single-sided heating. Double-sided heat fusion ensures consistent edge sealing and uniform strength.

Touchscreen

2. Built-in PLC + Touchscreen Automatic Length Setting System

The operator sets parameters such as cutting length (e.g., 1.5 meters), cutting quantity (e.g., 200 strips), and feeding speed via a 7-inch touchscreen. The machine features a built-in high-precision encoder-controlled feeding roller, ensuring a feeding length error within ±1mm/meter. During mass production, unattended continuous cutting is possible, with automatic alarm and shutdown.

3. Feeding and Pressing Mechanism

A pneumatic or motor-driven pressing device ensures the webbing is firmly fixed at the moment of cutting, preventing displacement and slanted cuts. The feeding roller surface is coated with rubber or a special texture, preventing slippage and damage to the webbing surface.

Control Box

4. Optional "Pre-Sewing Marking" System

This is a major highlight that distinguishes the GT-819 from ordinary hot cutting machines. While cutting, the machine can mark a small melting point or ink dot on the webbing surface at a set position (e.g., 50mm from the end) (depending on the customized solution). This marking is used for alignment, folding positioning, or part installation positioning in subsequent sewing processes, eliminating the tedious manual marking. It is especially suitable for manufacturing slings or ropes with seam loops.
